Trump picked the date, bombers are fuelled, drones are mapping targets – Strike on Iran could be hours away | DNA | World News

The world may be hours away from one of the most significant military attacks in recent history. According to the news of the American media based on White House sources, US President Donald Trump held a secret meeting with senior military commanders in Washington, and officials suggested Saturday as the most suitable window to launch a large-scale attack against Iran. The final command rests solely with Trump. And by all indications, it may have already been written.
Trap set
Iran was surrounded. Not overnight or by chance, but as a result of months of deliberate, systematic positioning that left Tehran surrounded on all sides. More than 120 advanced American warplanes are currently active at six major bases in the region. Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, the nerve center of U.S. Central Command, is home to F-22 Raptors and F-35 stealth aircraft. Saudi Arabia’s Prince Sultan Air Base has F-15s, F-35s, refueling tankers and reconnaissance aircraft supported by newly deployed air defense missile batteries. UAE’s Al Dhafra Air Base is adding more F-22s and F-35s to the ring. Jordan’s Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, which previously shot down Iranian drones targeting Israel, hosts F-35A and F-15E jets. Bahrain hosts the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet, which can conduct guided missile destroyer strikes and torpedo strikes against Iranian naval assets.

At sea, the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group is currently on station in the Arabian Sea. USS Gerald R. Ford is on its way. Together they are supported by more than a dozen warships in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. In total, Washington deployed almost a third of its entire naval force to this single theater of operations.

Strikes will come from everywhere
What makes this accumulation different from previous impasses is its geography. The USA is not preparing a single-direction coup; preparing one from every aspect at once. A U.S. Air Force plane was spotted Wednesday on the runway of Sofia Airport in Bulgaria, a NATO ally in southeastern Europe where warplanes can reach Tehran in just two hours. Trump also told British Prime Minister Keir Starmer not to surrender the British-controlled island base of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean under any circumstances. Trump clearly explained why. If Iran rejects a deal, he said, the United States would need Diego Garcia and Britain’s Fairford airport to neutralize Tehran. The base currently has six B-2 stealth bombers and four B-52s. The B-2 can carry 30,000 pounds of GBU-57 bunker buster bombs. The B-52 can hit targets 14,000 kilometers away. Both can reach Tehran.
Meanwhile, US Navy MQ-4C Triton surveillance drones, equipped with 360-degree radar that can track hundreds of targets simultaneously, were seen making sorties over the Persian Gulf from the UAE’s Al Dhafra base. Their mission, according to reports, is to map Iran’s naval infrastructure ahead of the first attack, designed above all to destroy Tehran’s maritime capabilities.
Iran does not wait
Iran knows what will happen. President Masoud Pezeshkian publicly stated that he was ready to die but would not retreat. Satellite images tell the rest of the story: Nuclear and military sites across Iran are being buried under concrete and reinforced soil, turned into hardened shelters that can withstand aerial bombardment. The Parchin military complex, which was previously hit by Israel and the USA, is surrounded by the densest fortifications. Iran’s message is clear: If you attack, you cannot destroy us easily.
Russia chose this moment to conduct joint naval exercises with Iran directly alongside American warships in the Gulf of Oman. The signal was unmistakable. However, China withdrew its ships from the exercise at the last minute; this was interpreted by analysts as Beijing quietly distancing itself from Tehran at the worst possible time for Iran.
Did diplomacy fail?
Nuclear negotiations between Washington and Tehran ended in Geneva on February 17 without any progress. Both sides described the discussions as constructive, but sources told The Jerusalem Post that key gaps were not closed. Iran is expected to return with new offers within two weeks. But when bombers are being refueled, drones are mapping targets and the attack date is reportedly chosen in advance, two weeks may be a luxury that no longer exists.
The world is already reacting
Markets are not waiting for official announcements. Gold rose above $5,500 per ounce in the USA, breaking an unprecedented historical record. Gold prices in India increased by Rs 3,000 in a day to Rs 1,55,000 per 10 grams. Brent crude oil is climbing towards $70 per barrel. The reason is simple; The Strait of Hormuz, through which 20 percent of the world’s daily oil supply passes, is at the center of this conflict. If war begins, this supply will not only slow down. It stops. And the economic shockwave will reach every country in the world, including India.
It has been reported that the date has been selected. Assets are in place. Drones are already over Iran. What happens next depends on one decision; Judging by every signal coming from Washington, that decision may already have been made.
