Green Party’s wannabe MP just summed up idiocy of Left better than anyone else could | Politics | News

Nothing sums up the stupidity of the left better than the claim that a Reform candidate was responsible for the Manchester Arena bombing. Suicide bomber Salman Abedi killed 22 people, including eight-year-old Saffie-Rose Roussos, when he targeted an Ariana Grande concert in 2017. His brother Hashem Abedi was sentenced to at least 55 years in prison for helping plan the atrocity and has since been charged with attempted murder of three prison officers.
The cowardly and despicable duo deliberately chose to spread terror and fear in a concert full of joyful, innocent little children in their war against the West. But wannabe MP Hannah Spencer did not blame the two men or their twisted Islamist ideology when asked why the attack took place. Instead, he pointed to Reform rival Matt Goodwin in the Gorton and Denton by-election.

In a debate on the BBC, Goodwin said there was a problem with some politicians failing to explain why atrocities were happening. Spencer replied: “What we did after the terrorist attacks was to come together and take care of each other.”
Goodwin countered again: “But you never asked why these things happen. Why do they happen?” Spencer shot back: “Because people like you divide people.”
The Reform candidate later tweeted that being accused of causing the terror bombing at Manchester Evening News Arena was the “most surreal moment” of the campaign and that the real reason was “radical Islamism”.
Tightly contested midterm elections can become very worrying as exhausted candidates struggle day after day and tensions boil over. But this debate reflects a much wider problem in the UK, an inability to talk calmly but openly about divisive issues.
Spencer favors the Green Party, which is prone to ridiculous ideas that would leave Britain stinking of power. For starters, he’s considering legalizing heroin and cocaine to make the country more inclusive. But it is about much more than crazy Green policies.
The left has been in the grip of the tyranny of so-called progressivism for decades. One of the greatest disasters of the 21st century. The fear of appearing rude for not having the right views has forced people into positions that are not only ridiculous but also dangerous. Islamist extremism, whatever that means, is not Goodwin’s fault or the result of the actions of people he “likes”.

We have a serious problem with people in positions of authority causing ordinary citizens to hesitate to speak out for fear of being labeled bigoted. The situation can have very real consequences. Following the Goodwin Spencer clash, Conservative MP Neil O’Brien noted: “Security guard Kyle Lawler saw the bomber but said he did nothing because ‘I was afraid of being wrong and being branded a racist’.”
Progressive extremism shuts down discussion and debate on topics where the argument cannot be won rationally. Instead of using logic to deal with a problem, advocates use emotion and resort to platitudes like “be kind.”
It has paralyzed our country with fear of saying the wrong thing rather than doing the wrong thing. This progressive extremism is behind the collective hysteria that is sweeping schools and convincing children that they were born in the wrong bodies.
Normal childhood anxieties were transformed into a new state of existence, trance, that led many to take puberty blockers. Some underwent life-changing surgery that left them infertile and in pain. Parents who oppose their child’s decision to identify as a different gender are branded as transphobes.
Women have lost their jobs just because they said trans women were actually men. These men were allowed to punch women in boxing matches, were allowed to be placed in women’s prisons even if they were convicted of sexual crimes, and were allowed to use women’s locker rooms. Every sane adult should know that all of this is not only fundamentally wrong, but also incredibly dangerous.
So why do progressives act like they can’t see what the rest of us can?
They have long managed to set the terms of the discussion, that is, there will be no discussion. But voters are tired of being told they are wrong, and they are looking for politicians who can deal sensibly with uncomfortable truths.
The absurdity of the left’s insidious attempt to control what the public says and does is finally being exposed.
