Stalin Hopeful Of Returning To power

Chennai: Expressing confidence in DMK to re-form the government within two months, Chief Minister MK Stalin said that the last five years of rule has given him experience and strength to further develop the State and the Dravidian Model 2.0 government will surpass the achievements of the current regime.
Addressing the State 16th Assembly on the last day of its closing session on Friday, Stalin said that he, like the people of Tamil Nadu, was hopeful of returning to power after the elections and launching further development plans with renewed energy and vigor.
Thanking the people of Tamil Nadu for giving him the great opportunity to serve the State, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction with his ability to run the Dravidian Model government on the path of Periyar EV Ramasamy, CN Annadurai) and M Karunanidhi despite the constraints caused by the partisan attitude of the Union Government in allocation of funds and inefficiency of the previous rulers.
However, he said that sitting idle, complaining about financial problems, made him happy but ensured that all departments in the state were progressing in a way that would lead to overall development.
Listing out the plethora of welfare schemes launched by his government in the last 5 years of rule, he said that the people of the entire state stood by him enabling the implementation of the schemes.
Although he had doubts about providing an efficient government when the DMK won the 2021 elections, he now felt that he had fulfilled the responsibility given to him well and was confident of making Tamil Nadu a more prosperous State in the future.
He remembered all the members of the Assembly who had passed away in the last five years and thanked all sections of people, including the media, who stood by the government. He said that the leaders of friendly parties and the opposition were sincere towards him.
Making it clear that he had no personal differences with Governor RN Ravi, he also thanked him for remaining true to Tamil culture and tradition, but added that in case of a threat to self-respect, he would be the first to raise his voice.
While opposition AIADMK and BJP members boycotted the last day’s session, the PMK group led by Anbumani Ramadoss walked out of the Assembly. However, former chief minister O Panneerselvam watched the entire hearing and even visited the Prime Minister in his chambers in the Assembly building and congratulated him on his successful tenure, triggering speculations that he would join hands with the DMK-led alliance.
The session was adjourned after Local Government Minister KN Nehru moved a resolution to this effect.
