Are the Beckhams and Ramsays at war? As Victoria is pictured looking stony-faced at Gordon’s Netflix launch, insiders tell KATIE HIND that the chef’s comments about Brooklyn feud have ruffled feathers

This was the night when many of Gordon Ramsay’s descendants came together in a show of unity and celebration; a much-needed antidote to the bad feeling caused by disagreements with the family of his new son-in-law, Adam Peaty.
Those bitter words, which cast a dark cloud over Holly and Adam’s just-after-Christmas wedding, appeared to be a thing of the past as Gordon and Tana posed for photos with the newlyweds at a launch party to promote the celebrity chef’s new Netflix series.
Joining the crowd was their close friend Victoria Beckham, who arrived at Gordon’s Mayfair restaurant Lucky Cat to support the Ramsays without her husband David or any of their children. But while posing with Gordon and Tana, Victoria could barely muster a weak smile but remained blank-faced for the rest of the evening.
In fact, as one observer thought, it was reminiscent of the Spice Girls days, when Posh’s pouty face was her trademark.
While I’m sure everyone had a good time, Victoria’s stern face may have been due to the elephant in the room – Gordon’s interview to promote his fly-on-the-wall documentary Being Gordon Ramsay, which aired two days before the glitzy launch party.
Gordon, a man not known for his diplomacy or self-control, described his friends’ ongoing feud with their eldest son, Brooklyn.
The families were close for more than 20 years; They first connected when David Beckham hired Ramsay for his 2006 World Cup party, and the relationship grew even stronger when both clans lived in Los Angeles.
Ramsay watched Brooklyn grow up, was a guest at Nicola Peltz’s Palm Beach wedding in 2022, and obviously the chef has a few ideas about how Beckham threw away the eldest child, 26, and his family after an epic split. Gordon said the fight was born out of Brooklyn’s ‘love’ for Nicola and called on the wannabe chef to ‘remember where he came from’.

The 59-year-old father of six continued in his no-holds-barred interview: ‘He’s eager to make his own way, and I respect that. It’s a very good thing to do.
‘But don’t forget where you came from. Honestly, one day your mom and dad won’t be around and you have to understand that. This penny will drop.’
Unsurprisingly, the comments sparked outrage in Brooklyn; Brooklyn made her feelings clear in language familiar to Gen Z: unfollowing Gordon on Instagram.
It was a pretty big move, and one that would leave Gordon stunned, especially since he had supported Brooklyn in his culinary career. Gordon also admitted that they had been in contact recently; Those who know Brooklyn say he doesn’t take this well.
And now I’m told that even Brooklyn’s harshest critics are baffled by Gordon’s decision to venture into this sensitive territory, especially since David and Victoria have maintained a dignified silence on the matter.
A source said: ‘It’s hard to feel sorry for Brooklyn, the things he did to his family were pretty rotten. But he found himself in the awkward position of being talked into as a vehicle to promote Gordon’s Netflix show.
‘Gordon is almost 60 and attacked a boy he has known since he was a little boy. David and Victoria haven’t talked about it and never will, and then Gordon walks in.
‘It means something. He saw his best friends David and Victoria go through hell. ‘Maybe that’s why he did it, or he thought it was helping the situation.’
But if Posh’s demeanor at the launch party is anything to go by, the help wasn’t appreciated at all. He appears to have barricaded the last few channels of communication between Brooklyn and his roots in the UK.

Victoria and Nicola in February 2024. According to conflicting accounts, Victoria had originally planned to make Nicola’s wedding dress, but pulled it off “at the 11th hour”, according to Brooklyn; This was something his mother had always denied.
Because Gordon wasn’t the only one snubbed by Brooklyn; He also stopped following Jack and Holly Ramsay, his childhood friends and the twins he grew up with.
While there’s a definite chill in their friendship (Brooklyn chose not to invite Jack and Nicola to last summer’s vow renewal ceremony and turned down Holly’s wedding) this is the first time she’s made her feelings about the Ramsays clear.
‘Brooklyn, Jack and Holly did a lot of things together as kids. Brooklyn adored them, there is so much history in common. This all seems to be in the past now, but it all feels pretty sad.
‘Brooklyn must have her reasons for resisting, but this is another lost connection to her old life.’
It’s been a very difficult time for the Beckhams since Brooklyn and Nicola were unable to attend any of David’s 50th birthday celebrations last spring. Their absence sparked a massive backlash and press briefing war; David and Victoria camp blamed Nicola for the broken relationship with their son.
As the argument escalated, Brooklyn and Nicola asked their lawyer at the Schillings law firm to request that their parents no longer contact them except for legal correspondence.
And the final nail in the coffin came in January when Brooklyn wrote a six-page letter accusing him of eviscerating his parents, accusing them of controlling him and trying to destroy his relationship with Nicola; Naturally, she posted this on Instagram. I’m told David, 50, and Victoria, 51, would ‘give anything’ for some sort of relationship with their son.
Perhaps that’s why some in Ramsay/Beckham circles are stunned by Gordon’s decision to stir things up, given his own family troubles; Which makes him hardly an expert on family discord.
On the wedding day of Holly Ramsay and Olympian Adam Peaty. Gordon’s fight with his son-in-law Peaty’s family is far from resolved and almost as bitter as the Beckhams’.
‘It feels like Gordon needs to get his own house in order before he starts making comments about others,’ a source told me.
In fact, his feud with son-in-law Adam Peaty’s family has yet to be resolved and is almost as intense as the Beckhams’.
The Ramsay fallout also appears to have stemmed from a dress.
According to conflicting accounts, Victoria had originally planned to make Nicola’s wedding dress, but pulled it off at the “11th hour” (according to Brooklyn); which was something his mother had always rejected.
Meanwhile, Holly reportedly caused bad feelings when she objected to Adam’s mother Caroline’s wedding outfit, saying it didn’t fit the theme.
In the end, the only member of Adam’s family on the big day was his sister Bethany.
The snub left Caroline ‘absolutely devastated’, while Gordon further upset the Peaty family by mocking the situation at his father’s bridal speech at the lavish Kin House in the Cotswolds.
Observers commented: ‘Brooklyn will argue that her disagreements with her parents are her issue, not Gordon’s.’
If the celebrity chef’s intention was to raise the profile of his show, it appears to have worked, and it caused much fanfare on Netflix this week. The six-part series follows the star on his most challenging project yet: unveiling five culinary experiences at 22 Bishopsgate, London’s second-tallest skyscraper. Produced by his own production company, Studio Ramsay, the film received mixed reviews despite a massive promotional campaign.
While Gordon may have gotten the headlines he so desperately wanted, what now about the Ramsays and Beckhams?
‘Nothing gets past both stages these days,’ says one industry source. ‘They’ve all been through this and they’ve always been there for each other.’
‘But there’s a feeling that Gordon’s comments were certainly not very helpful, and it’s a bit strange that he made it.’
