Will raise global tariff rate from 10% to 15%, says Trump | World News

President Donald Trump said Saturday he plans to increase worldwide tariffs from 10 percent to 15 percent.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the increase would take effect immediately and argued that many countries have “exploited” the United States for decades.
“Based on a thorough, detailed and complete review of the ridiculous, poorly written and extraordinarily un-American decision on Tariffs issued yesterday by the Supreme Court of the United States after months of deliberation, please allow this statement to represent that, as President of the United States, I will raise, effective immediately, the 10% Worldwide Tariff on Countries, many of which have “exploited” the United States for decades without retribution (until I show up!) Trump wrote in his post that “the fully permissible and legally tested 15% level,” he said.

Trump added that his administration will identify and issue additional legally permissible tariffs in the coming months as part of a broader effort to strengthen U.S. trade policy and advance the “Make America Great Again” agenda.
“In the coming short months, the Trump Administration will identify and issue new, legally permissible Tariffs that will continue our incredibly successful drive to Make America Great Again, BIGGER Than Ever,” the post said.
(This is a developing story.)
