Donald Trump Calls On Netflix To Fire Board Member Susan Rice Or “Pay The Consequences”

Donald Trump called on Netflix to fire one of its board members, former US ambassador to the United Nations and national security adviser Susan Rice, following comments she made about accountability when Democrats returned to power.
Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday: “Netflix must fire the racist, Trump must fire Susan Rice IMMEDIATELY or suffer the consequences. She has no talent or skill – She is a pure political hack! She is OUT OF POWER AND WILL NEVER BACK. How much is she being paid and for what??? Thank you for your interest in this matter. Mayor DJT”

A Netflix spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Appearing on Preet Bharara’s podcast this week, Rice said that for corporate interests, law firms and the media, “this is not going to end well for them. For those who decided to act in their perceived, very narrow self-interest, which I would highlight as short-term self-interest, and kneel before Trump, I think they’re starting to realize, ‘Wait a minute, this is unpopular. Trump is unpopular.'”
“There will probably be a swing in the opposite direction and they will be caught with their pants down. Those who opposed Trump and won at the ballot box will be held accountable,” he said.
He added: “If these companies think that the Democrats are going to play by the old rules when they come back to power and say, ‘Forget it, we’re going to pardon you for all the people you fired, all the policies and principles you violated, all the laws you broke,’ I think they’re going to be faced with something else.”
Referring to the Democrats, he said, “While these guys are playing by different rules, we will not play by the old rules. We will play by the law. We will not break the law like they do. But we will not be suckers.”
For months, Trump has criticized Netflix and other MAGA influencers by linking to a post by Laura Loomer, who opposed the streaming giant’s bid to acquire Warner Bros., citing in part her ties to Barack Obama. Rice served as US ambassador to the United Nations during Obama’s first term and as national security advisor during his second term.
Trump told NBC News earlier this month that his administration’s Netflix-Warner Bros. whether it will give regulatory approval to its deal or Paramount’s decision to get Warner Bros. He said he would not be involved in deciding whether to make a rival bid for all of Discovery. But he has previously said he would get involved, despite the long-standing political norm that presidents keep their distance from the Justice Department.
Trump publicly praised Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos after meeting him multiple times, including during a visit to the White House in November.
Sarandos appeared before the Senate Judiciary Antitrust Subcommittee at a hearing earlier this month, where he was pressed about the competitive impact of the transaction. But several Republicans on the committee pressed Sarandos on culture war issues, including content involving transgender people, even though the Justice Department is reviewing the merger over antitrust issues.
Paramount, meanwhile, has ties to Trump, including longtime friend and investor Larry Ellison and his son David Ellison, Skydance founder and CEO of the combined company. Makan Delrahim, Paramount’s chief legal officer, led the Justice Department’s antitrust division during Trump’s first term.
Rice’s point was that Democrats would hold corporations accountable if they came back to power. highlighted this week A group of senators flooded David Ellison with a letter asking him to preserve documents after he refused to answer questions about Paramount’s dealings with Trump.
