Kallie Humphries, Jasmine Jones earn bobsled Olympic bronze for Team USA

Saturday’s two-woman bobsled final at the Milan Cortina Olympics added another medal to Team USA’s tally.
After taking a medal in the women’s monobob earlier this week, Kaillie Armbruster Humphries teamed up with Jasmine Jones to win another medal. The duo finished third with a time of 3:49.21 and won the bronze medal. Humphries and Jones also broke records in Heat 1.
Six Americans competed in the event, with Humphries and Jones securing a podium finish. Humphries entered the Winter Games as a three-time Olympic gold medalist.

Germany took the gold and silver medals on Saturday.

Two-time Olympian Kaysha Love and first-time Olympian Azaria Hill were among the Americans in the field and finished fifth with a time of 3:49.71. Fellow Americans Jadin O’Brien and Elana Meyers Taylor placed seventh.

Meyers Taylor and O’Brien stumbled on the second lap, topping the track and falling to 12th going into the final.
Despite the misfortune at the last Olympic event, Meyers Taylor remains the most decorated Black athlete in Winter Olympics history. Meyers Taylor and Bonnie Blair share the most medals won by an American woman at the Winter Games.

A fixture at nearly every Winter Olympics, bobsled hosts two-woman, two-man and four-person events in Cortina, Milan. The women’s monobob is back this year, having been added in 2022. The sleds can reach speeds of up to 93 miles per hour, according to the sport’s governing body.
