According to Rohith Bhat, organizer of SBP, over 840 job opportunities are being offered under the ‘HomeComing’ platform of Silicon Beach Program (SBP).

“The platform currently has over 840 experienced level IT roles from over 100 companies in the Udupi-Mangaluru region and has already facilitated 16 successful senior hires from organizations like Niveus Solutions, UniCourtInc, OjasQuest and Sclera,” he shared on X.

SBP, a Section 8 company, is a group of like-minded people from different fields who have pooled their resources to spur the economic growth of coastal Karnataka by using the technology industry as a growth catalyst.

Mr. Bhat said that the ‘HomeComing’ platform connects experienced IT and technology professionals with impactful career opportunities in coastal Karnataka.

From education center to technology center

SBP aims to transform the coastal region from an education hub to a technology hub by leveraging local IT resources, capabilities and infrastructure to deliver world-class services and products with superior technology and capabilities. Mr. Bhat, who is also the chairman of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Mangaluru chapter, said this will result in significant cost advantages for companies across the world, thereby ushering in a new era of growth for the region.

He also shared on X on February 19: “HomeComing offers a practical way to return home with responsibility, growth, and long-term career continuity intact.”

26 or more companies are hiring

As companies expand into India’s Silicon Beach (referring to the coastal region), demand for senior, experienced talent, engineering and leadership teams to scale delivery is accelerating, Mr. Bhat said. HomeComing closes this gap by connecting experienced professionals with reliable IT opportunities closer to home.

SBP’s post on X read: “Build your career where you belong. Udupi-Mangaluru is now India’s Silicon Beach and HomeComing helps you find roles where you can lead, grow and thrive.”

The post mentioned the names of 26 companies hiring at HomeComing and said “many more.”

Meanwhile, a joint statement issued by industry leaders in Mangaluru last week said that more than 40 new IT companies have come into operation in the coastal region in the last two years, adding more than 8,000 new IT jobs. Today, the technology ecosystem in the coastal region consists of more than 400 startups, more than 250 technology companies and approximately 25,000 professionals, reflecting the continued confidence of investors. During this period, three local technology companies were purchased and a total investment of around 250 million dollars was made in the region.

Signatories to the declaration included CII, SBP, TiE and others.
