5-day Energy Conservation Seminar Begins At JNTUA

Anantapur: A five-day seminar on Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency began at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA) on Monday.

The program, which was inaugurated at the Seminar Hall of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, is jointly organized by the Directorate of Faculty Development and Women’s Empowerment and Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission under the State Energy Ministry.

Vice Rector Prof. opened the seminar. H. Sudarshana Rao underlined the increasing importance of energy conservation and efficiency. Recalling that JNTUA received the Gold Award in the Building Category 2025, he expressed confidence that the university will gain more recognition. He assured institutional support for energy initiatives and called on NEDCAP officials to improve placement opportunities for students in the renewable energy sector.

Program coordinator Dr M. Rama Sekhar Reddy said the event aims to raise awareness about energy saving practices among students, faculty and young engineers.

NEDCAP Project Director M. Siva Shankar Naidu outlined government support mechanisms and emerging opportunities in renewable energy. Sudhakar Reddy, APSECM, highlighted policies in line with the Ministry of Power’s “Swarna Andhra Vision-2047”.

Program Director Prof. While P. Sujatha gave details of the technical sessions, University Principal Prof. P. Chennareddy spoke about campus energy audits and savings measures.
