British mother, 42, is killed in front of her family after van they were in ploughs into the back of a lorry on Spanish highway

A British mother was killed in front of her family when the minibus they were in crashed into the back of a truck on a Spanish motorway.

The 42-year-old woman died following a tragic accident on the A-7 motorway in Totana, Murcia, on Saturday.

Spanish authorities described the incident as ‘extremely serious’ and stated that a person was thrown from the minibus during the collision and was found lying on the road.

Emergency service teams, including Guardia Civilian traffic officers, firefighters and ambulances, were sent to the scene of the accident.

Firefighters were kept ready in case anyone could be rescued from the rubble.

The accident caused traffic to increase by about a mile, and the right lane of the highway was temporarily closed.

While the investigation into the matter continues, it was stated that distraction may have been effective in the incident.
