DFAT hires $250k Washington lobbyist known as ‘Mr Inside’

Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs has a new hit man in Washington: a senior D.C. lobbyist known for his “aggressive” tactics, nicknamed “Mr Insider” by Washington. New York Times and as recently as last year we lobbied on behalf of the Saudi Arabian government.
cricket The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has hired lobbyist Richard F. Hohlt to help its diplomats in Washington gain access to US politicians and advance business interests, it can exclusively reveal.
Hohlt will be paid US$30,000 per month for half a year – for a total cost of around US$250,000 in Australian currency – according to a contract obtained by Hohlt Crikey.
