Police have launched an investigation after a “hidden camera” was found in the bathroom of the sorority house at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Guwahati campus, an officer said on Friday (February 27, 2026).
He said TISS officials informed the police and filed a complaint regarding the incident.
“An investigation was launched upon the complaint,” the police officer said.
TISS-Guwahati said in a statement that the latest incident was “a serious breach of privacy and is completely unacceptable and condemnable”.
It was stated that internal security protocols were reviewed to ensure that such an incident does not occur again in the future.
The statement stated that support services were available for affected students and that TISS was cooperating fully with the police in this case.
