Delhi-Tel Aviv Flight Diverted to Mumbai Following Israel Airspace Closure: Air India

New Delhi: Air India on Saturday diverted its Delhi-Tel Aviv flight to Mumbai due to the closure of Israeli airspace. Following Israel’s attacks on Iran, some airspaces were closed to flight operations.

“AI139, which flew from Delhi to Tel Aviv on February 28, is returning to India in view of the closure of airspace in Israel and the safety of passengers and crew,” the airline said in a statement. he said. The flight was diverted to Mumbai, an airline official said.

“We will continue to assess the safety and security environment for our flight operations and proactively adjust operations as required,” Air India said. The airline also regretted the inconvenience experienced by passengers due to this unforeseen situation.

Meanwhile, IndiGo said it is closely monitoring regional updates regarding Iran and its airspace. “Our teams stand ready to implement necessary adjustments as the situation evolves,” a post on X said, and asked passengers to check their flight status before departure. Flight tracking site Flightradar24.com said in a post on X that the closed airspaces are affecting many flights and airlines.
