Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam sent an indirect message to the Iran-backed Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, saying that he will not accept anyone who is dragged into “adventures that threaten the security and unity of the country.”

In his statement after the US and Israel began their attacks on Iran, Salam drew attention to the “serious developments” in the region and called on “all Lebanese to act with wisdom and patriotism, placing the interests of Lebanon and the Lebanese people above all else.”

Hezbollah has been involved in numerous conflicts with Israel since it was founded by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard in 1982.

Israel has warned Lebanon that if Hezbollah gets involved in any US-Iran war, it will hit the country hard by targeting civilian infrastructure, including the airport, Reuters reported on Tuesday.

“I reiterate that we will not accept anyone who drags the country into adventures that threaten its security and unity,” Salam said in a statement sent to Reuters. he said.
