Donald Trump commented on reports that Ali Khamenei may have died following US and Israeli attacks on Iran overnight. The President spoke to NBC News tonight. When asked about the news about the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, he said: “We think this is a true story.”

Speaking on Saturday evening, Mr Trump initially said he did not want to comment on the possibility that the Iranian leader may have been killed, but added “there are rumors and rumours” that he has been killed. He also said: “He killed a lot of people. He killed a lot of people. He destroyed a lot of lives. He destroyed a lot of families and he destroyed a country.”

Asked how and when confirmation would be received on the reported death, Trump said: “I’ve talked to a lot of people, and we feel confident that this is an accurate story.”

After the US-Israeli Operation Epic Rage, the first news about the possible death of the Iranian leader was Israeli media. Some authorities in the country have claimed that his body has been found but have not provided any evidence of this so far.

This comes as Iran has repeatedly denied the Ayatollah’s death over the past few hours, claiming he was “commanding the field”.

Khamenei has not been seen in public since Operation Epic Rage, launched by the United States and Israel early Saturday.

Later tonight, Mr. Trump claimed on Truth Social that Khamenei was actually dead. He wrote: “Khamenei, one of the worst people in history, is dead. This is justice not only for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans and people in many countries of the world who were killed or maimed by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty STUFFs.”

“He failed to evade our Intelligence and Highly Advanced Tracking Systems, and because he worked closely with Israel, there was nothing he or the other leaders killed with him could have done. This is the only great chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country.”

“We hear that many of the Revolutionary Guards, the Army and other Security and Police Forces no longer want to fight and are seeking immunity from us. As I said last night, ‘Now they can have immunity, later they only get Death!’ We hope that the Revolutionary Guard and Police will unite peacefully with the Patriots of Iran and work together as a unit to bring the Country back to the greatness it deserves.

“This process must begin soon, not only with the death of Khamenei, but also with the decimation and even destruction of the Country in just one day. But heavy and precise bombings will continue uninterrupted throughout the week, or as long as necessary to achieve our goal of PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND REALLY IN THE WORLD!”

Iran has yet to confirm the death of the country’s leader.

Earlier today, aerial photos showed Khamenei’s compound was largely destroyed following US and Israeli attacks.
