At the UN Security Council meeting on Saturday, Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations Amir-Saeid Iravani condemned US attacks on Iran that targeted the country’s military leadership and killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, describing the attack as double standards and promising that the country will defend itself.
Iravani accused the US of undermining its claims to maintain international stability while attacking a sovereign country for its “domestic” activities.
Iravani said, “Neither the convention nor international law accepts the internal issues of a state as a justification for the use of force by other states. The rule of law will be replaced by the rule of force.” he said.
“Iran will continue to exercise its right of self-defense with determination and without hesitation until the aggression ends completely and clearly,” he said.
On Saturday morning, President Donald Trump ordered the execution of Operation Epic Rage, citing Tehran’s continued efforts to develop nuclear weapons.

In his statement about Saturday’s attack, Trump said, “It has always been the policy of the United States, and especially my administration, that this terrorist regime can never have nuclear weapons. I will say it again. They can never have nuclear weapons.” he said.

Irvani described the attack as a continuation of the United States’ long-standing aggression against Iran.
“Mr. President, this morning the US regime, jointly and in coordination with the Israeli regime, launched an unprovoked and premeditated attack against the Islamic Republic of Iran for the second time in recent months,” Irvani said, referring to US attacks on nuclear enrichment facilities last year. he said.

“The President of the United States and the Prime Minister of the Israeli regime have clearly claimed responsibility for this act of aggression and have clearly stated that their goal is regime change. A clear admission of their intention to violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran.”
UN Ambassador Mike Waltz disputed Iravani’s descriptions.

Waltz said, “For 47 years, the Iranian regime has been chanting and quoting ‘Death to America’ slogans at every opportunity, at every opening, and has been trying to eliminate the state of Israel. It is waging an endless campaign of bloodshed and mass murder.” he said.
