Explosions, smoke near Iraq airport hosting US-led troops

Loud explosions were heard early Sunday near Erbil airport, which hosts US-led coalition troops in Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan region, an AFP journalist said.

An AFP correspondent reported thick black smoke rising from the airport area.
