Mob Barges Into US Consulate in Pakistan, Torches Portion of Building

Hundreds of people broke into the windows of the US Consulate in the Pakistani port city of Karachi on Sunday, police said, after the US and Israel attacked Iran and killed the country’s religious leader.

Police official Muhammad Jawad said police and paramilitary forces used batons and used tear gas to disperse the crowd. He said at least one protester was killed and several others were injured in clashes between protesters and security forces.

The attack on the consulate came just hours after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a major attack by Israel and the United States.
