Suspicious death of a young man in a home

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) is investigating a suspicious death in the Ville-Marie borough.

It was a 911 call around 1:45 a.m. Sunday that led police to a home on Saint-André Street, near Ontario Street, regarding an injured young man.
“When the police arrived on scene, they located a victim on the ground, an 18-year-old man. He was unconscious and he had an upper body injury caused by an unknown object,” said agent Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM.
The 18-year-old man was transported to hospital, where he died of his injuries.
The circumstances surrounding this event are unknown and there have been no arrests. A security perimeter was erected to protect the scene for SQ investigators and forensic identification technicians.
Furthermore, “checks will be made on possible surveillance cameras located near the premises,” underlined Officer Chèvrefils.
The SPVM investigation continues.
