9 injured in mass shooting at Cincinnati Riverfront Live venue in East End

Nine people were injured in a mass shooting at the Riverfront Live music venue on Cincinnati’s East Side early Sunday, authorities confirmed, after police launched an investigation into gunfire during a birthday celebration.

The shooting took place at the scene just after 1 a.m. According to local Fox19.

All nine victims were taken to local hospitals. Most suffered non-life-threatening injuries; However, one person is in critical condition.

Police did not provide information about the suspect.

A group called Solid Gold Dancer was performing nearby when the incident occurred.

“While we were taking a break between sets, we saw a group of people running from this side of the building,” said band member Sam Steinher. he told a local news outlet. “At first we didn’t realize the seriousness of the situation. But someone said people were shooting.”

Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval called the attack “senseless” and thanked first responders and law enforcement in a post on social media.

“Overnight, our community on the East Coast fell victim to a senseless mass shooting. Thank you to the officers, first responders, and all hospital staff who worked to save lives this morning.” He said the following about Pureval X.
