Will Take Time To Achieve Objectives in Iran

washingtonAs the US and Israel’s attacks on Iran continue for the third day, Chief of Staff US General Dan Caine said on Monday that it will take time to reach US military targets in Iran and additional losses are expected from the US.
The US-Israeli air war against Iran expanded to no end on Monday. Kuwaiti air defenses mistakenly shot down three American F-15E fighter jets during an Iranian attack, the US military said.
“This is not a one-night operation. Achieving the military objectives assigned by CENTCOM and the Joint Force will take some time and, in some cases, difficult and courageous work,” Caine told reporters. He added that the United States continues to send additional troops to the Middle East even after a major military buildup.
Caine’s comments came a day after US President Donald Trump said attacks on Iran could continue for the next four weeks.
A fourth US soldier died Monday from injuries sustained during a US operation against Iran. US military forces have intercepted hundreds of ballistic missiles targeting the US and its partners in the region.
At the same press conference, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said military operations against Iran would not lead to an “endless war” but acknowledged that the operation would not be completed overnight. The goal is to destroy Tehran’s missiles, navy and other security infrastructure, Hegseth said.
“This is not Iraq. This is not forever,” Hegseth said.
President Donald Trump launched the United States’ biggest foreign policy gamble in decades on Saturday, campaigning alongside Israel against an enemy that has tormented the United States and its allies for generations.
Despite the US-Israeli attacks, conservative religious leaders in Iran have shown no signs of giving up power. Military experts say that the air power of the US and Israel, which have no armed forces in the field, may not be enough to remove them from the region. Meanwhile, it was reported that many Iranians, including those who hit civilian targets, were killed in the attacks.
