Trump issues fierce warning to Iran: ‘Big one is coming’ | World | News

Donald Trump has warned that a “major wave of attacks” could still be coming in Iran, with Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and other senior officials killed at the very beginning of its military campaign in the early hours of Saturday (February 28). “We haven’t even started hitting them hard. The big wave hasn’t happened yet. The big wave is coming soon,” Mr. Trump told CNN.

The US President also rejected the possibility of deploying US troops to Iran. Speaking on Monday, March 2, the US President said he would allow US soldiers to enter Iran “if necessary”. “I’m not bragging about boots on the field; as every president says, ‘There will be no boots on the ground.’ “I’m not saying it,” he said. New York Post. “I say, ‘I probably don’t need them.'” [or] ‘if it were necessary'”

But the US President did not expand or clarify what the “big wave” might include or whether it explicitly included sending US ground forces to Iran.

Mr. Trump also spoke defiantly about the possible political consequences of grounding U.S. boats in Iran. “I don’t care about the vote,” he told the New York Post.

Mr. Trump said, “Look, whether the polls are low or not, I think the polls are probably good. But it’s not a poll thing. You can’t let Iran, a country run by crazy people, have nuclear weapons.” he said.

This comes as Mr Trump’s Secretary of War Pete Hegseth also left the door open to sending US ground forces to Iran at a news conference at the Pentagon on Monday. Asked whether there were currently troops in Iran, Mr. Hegseth replied: “No, but we’re not going to get into an exercise of what we will do and what we won’t do.”

“I think this is one of the long-standing misconceptions of the department that presidents or others have to say to America’s enemies, by the way, here’s exactly what, here’s exactly how far we’re going to go, here’s exactly how far we’re going to go, here’s what we’re willing to do and what we’re willing not to do — that’s stupidity,” he added.

On Saturday, February 28, the United States and Israel dropped dozens of aerial bombs on the residence of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, killing him along with the country’s top command, in an attack titled Operation Epic Rage. In response, Tehran has launched large-scale attacks with ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones on US bases and the territory of US-allied countries in the Middle East, including Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and the UAE.
