Three Held On Charge Of Murder In Bengaluru

BENGALUR: Police arrested three people, including a woman, for allegedly killing a man after he succumbed to multiple stab wounds and later allegedly smothered his face with plastic sheeting. The incident took place a few days ago at a house in Manjunath Nagar under Bagalgunte police station limits of Bengaluru city.

Police named the accused as Bindu, his colleagues Vinay and Dhanush Gowda, and stated that the deceased was 45-year-old Mohan Rao, a pygmy collector.

Police said that around three months ago, Bindu and Mohan Rao were staying in a rented house in Manjunath Nagar and both were separated from their spouses. Meanwhile, Bindu met truck driver Vinay and they decided to get married soon. However, Bindu’s decision to marry Vinay was opposed by Mohan Rao.

To clear their path, Bindu and Vinay hatch a plan to eliminate Mohan Rao, who is an obstacle to their marriage. They organized a party and made Mohan Rao drink alcohol before stabbing and strangling him to death. Bindu and Vinay were helped by Dhanush Gowda, who works in a non-vegetarian hotel.

Following complaints from neighbors about the bad smell coming from the house, the police conducted an on-site inspection of the house in Manjunath Nagar and came across the body of Mohan Rao.

Accused Bindu claimed that she was a law graduate and had acted in small roles in some Kannada films. Police verification of Bindu’s educational background is ongoing. A case has been registered and investigations are ongoing.
