Man, Woman Found Dead In Forest Near Rapur–Chitvel Ghat Road

What are you doing? A man and a woman were found dead in the forest area near the ninth mile of the Rapur-Chitvel ghat road on Tuesday in an alleged suicide. The deceased were identified as 25-year-old Alapaka Prasanna Kumar of Muthukur and 24-year-old M. Savitri of Chintalathopu village in Chittamuru mandal.

According to the police, villagers of Pangili, who went to the forest to collect honey, noticed the two bodies hanging from the tree and immediately informed Village Revenue Officer (VRO) Sudhakar. He also notified the local police.

Sub-inspector Venkata Rajesh went to the scene with his team and conducted a preliminary investigation. Police found a handbag containing mobile phones at the scene, which helped them identify the deceased. Later, family members were informed about the incident.

During the investigation, the police also found a two-wheeler and a bottle of insecticide along with the bodies. Based on initial investigation, officers suspect the couple may have consumed pesticides before hanging themselves from a tree branch using a chunni.

Police said Savitri is married and has two children. Sub-inspector Venkata Rajesh said a case has been registered and further investigation is on to ascertain the reasons behind the incident.
