Exposed: Half-naked man filmed ‘fleeing lover’s husband’ admits causing three-car crash

This is the man caught on video running away from the scene of a three-car crash without his pants on.

Mark Richards, 48, was filmed running into the woods just seconds after the crash, wearing just a black T-shirt and socks and exposing his bare backside.

The footage went viral after speculation on social media that Richards had run a red light because she was “chased by her lover’s husband” after being caught in bed with another man’s wife.

He appeared before a judge in Wigan, Lancashire, today and was banned from driving for two years.

Richards’ defending attorney, Andrea Woods, did not elaborate on the circumstances of the crash but acknowledged that Richards had “a lot going on in his personal life” at the time.

The court was told the crash happened on Wigan Road in Bolton on January 17.

Richards abandoned his Volvo V40 car immediately after the prank and was filmed running half-naked, trousers in hand, in the face of a surprised Weimaraner dog.

The man later returned to the scene and admitted to police officers that he had run a red light.

Mark Richards, 48, was banned from driving after admitting his involvement in the crash in January.

Richards provided a roadside saliva sample that tested positive for drugs and was arrested.

He was taken to the police station but refused to give a blood sample because he had a blood sample in his hand. The court used the expression ‘fear of needles’.

Miss Woods said: ‘He said there were a lot of things in his personal life that caused him to overthink.

‘He wasn’t in an area he was familiar with.

‘And he said those factors were why he missed the red light.’

Judges were also told that Richards had done so. I don’t believe drugs will affect your driving.

Earlier, prosecutor Zulekha Bhuta told the court: ‘The defendant was seen crossing a red light and colliding with another vehicle.

‘This caused another vehicle to also crash into these two vehicles, so it was a three-vehicle collision.’

Last month the Daily Mail revealed that cheeky social media users had posted hilarious speculation about what the half-naked man might have been doing before the crash; these included allegations that she had to make a hasty escape after “her lover was caught by her angry husband.”

Some joked that ‘even his dog wouldn’t give him up for adoption’ because of his behavior.

One neighbor said: ‘The video appeared on social media within minutes of the incident taking place, it was almost like watching a live feed of what was happening.

‘Different videos kept appearing from different angles; We have no idea who the man is, we couldn’t see his face, only his back! Luckily there were no close-ups.’

Another said: ‘At first we were worried she was an exhibitionist, then there were loads of rumors that she wasn’t on good terms with another man’s wife and her husband had come home, so she had to make quick work of it.

‘This isn’t something you see every day; Only in Bolton!’

Richards, of Skelmersdale, Lancashire, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and failing to provide a sample for analysis.

As well as being banned from driving, he was also given an 18-month community service order and fined £199.
