UK to see warmest day of year so far with 19C forecast on Thursday | Weather | News
The UK will welcome its hottest day of the year so far on Thursday 5 March, with temperatures expected to reach 19°C. According to the Met Office, above average temperatures are expected across the country for this time of year; maximum temperatures will reach 18°C to 19°C, and more generally 16°C to 17°C.
This comes as Brits have seen sunshine emerge over the last few days. Last week the country had its hottest day of the year, with Kew Gardens in London reaching 18.7C, while temperatures were in the high 10s.
Although forecasters say last week’s calm weather may be left behind.
Met Office meteorologist Honor Criswick said on Thursday: “There is a cluster of clouds and rain, which may be heavy at times, that will move eastwards across western areas.
“East of this the weather should be mostly fine. There should be many long sunny spells before the rain starts moving east.”
Ms Criswick added that it was expected to be cloudier in England and Wales on Friday, while Northern Ireland and Scotland would see more sunshine.
