Brits in the UAE have been told to stay home after Iranian attacks on Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The British Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has called on British citizens to “move in and stay in.”
In its statement about

“Stay away from windows. An interior stairwell or a room with as few windows as possible may provide additional protection,” the warning also added.

The embassy advises British citizens to comply with the instructions of local authorities in the UAE.

In the days following the launch of Operation Epic Fury, the State Department (FCDO) has updated its travel guide for the UAE amid the turmoil of the Middle East conflict following US-Israeli attacks on Iran. Around 300,000 Britons are believed to be in affected parts of the Middle East as the conflict enters its sixth day.

Thousands of flights have been canceled so far, and as of Wednesday, March 4, the status for the entire United Arab Emirates is “advised against all but essential travel.” Brits in the UAE are also being asked to stay indoors in a safe location and monitor their phones for urgent air raid warnings from the UAE Ministry of Home Affairs. If a warning sounds, go to the lowest floor possible and stay away from the window.

Those in the UAE are required to declare their presence to the UK Government. A limited number of commercial options are available, including by air. UAE and from Oman.

Two British holidaymakers who had planned to spend just three hours in Dubai claim they are now stranded indefinitely in the Gulf metropolis. Of the first missile attacks on Saturday, he said: “I thought it was a firework. Then we saw the second one, then the third one, and we started screaming and the hotel staff said ‘run, run, run’.”
