Ukraine says Ukrainian bank employees detained with cash shipment in Hungary

March 6 (Reuters) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha accused Hungary early on Friday of detaining seven employees of a Ukrainian state savings bank while they were transferring cash from Austria to Ukraine.

Sybiha said that the employees were traveling in two vehicles in Hungary when they were detained. He said their whereabouts are unknown at this time.

“We are actually talking about Hungary taking hostages and stealing money,” Sybiha wrote. “If this is the ‘power’ that Mr. Orban announced earlier today, it is the power of a criminal gang. This is state terrorism and blackmail.”
