MAA-AP To Host Ugadi Awards for Outstanding Achievers

Vijayawada: Film director and MAA-AP founder Donepudi Dileep Raja said on Friday that the Film Artistes Association-Andhra Pradesh (MAA-AP) will organize the 2026 Ugadi Awards on a grand scale to celebrate the Telugu new year. He said the executive committee of MAA-AP has decided to conduct the Ugadi celebrations in a prestigious manner and honor eminent personalities from various fields.
He said that the awards will reward successful people in the fields of cinema, television, theatre, social media, sports, short films, YouTube, education, medicine, employment, business world, social service and law, among other sectors. He added that the selection process for the awardees has already begun.
Dileep Raja said that the association will soon discuss the program with state civil supplies minister Nadendla Manohar, while the proposal has already been brought to the notice of cinematography minister Kandula Durgesh. With a special gesture, the association will also honor humanitarian aid volunteers who have performed the last rites of homeless and orphaned bodies since the Covid-19 outbreak. Actor Vemuru (Misala) Bhaskar praised the initiative and director A. Srinivas Yadav announced that commemorative memorabilia would be presented to the awardees.
