2 dead, suspect killed at a Lexington, Kentucky, church after suspect shot a state trooper, police say.

Authorities said two women were killed in a fire at the Richmond Road Baptist Church in Kentucky on Sunday after a man hit a state soldier near the city’s airport. Both men were injured in the church fire.

The shooting near the Blue Grass airport appeared around 11:35 after seizing a vehicle in Terminal Drive after receiving a Trooper plate reader warning.

Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers was shot at a press conference on Sunday before the suspect escaped from the scene and continuing a vehicle, and ended at the Richmond Road Baptist Church about 15 miles away.

The preliminary information shows that the suspect may be connected to the people in the church, Weathers said, without elaboration. The suspect then fired his gun to individuals in the church property, ”he said.

The three officers responded, shot the suspect who was declared dead at the scene.

The shooter was defined, but the police did not release his name. Authorities, the family’s family was not informed, he said.

The murdered victims were described as 34 -year -old Christina Combs and 72 -year -old Beverly Gumm. Fayette County Coroner had previously described the Taraklar as 32.

Weathers said that the wounded men were transferred to the hospital. One man is critical, he added that the other is stable. The wounded soldier is also stable.
