The new Sea Eagles halfback is acutely aware of the jersey he will wear, the shoes he will fill and the legacy of his predecessor.
“First of all, I couldn’t do any of the things he did for the club,” Fogarty said.
“He’s been a maid here for 15 years, won a competition, played for Australia, Queensland and things like that.
“I’m not going to try to play his style because I’m not him. I’m going to bring my own style and what works for me. Obviously those are huge shoes to fill, but when I’m just being myself and supporting myself, playing my style, that’s all that matters at the end of the day.”
