T.N. institutions have completed almost all projects funded under RUSA: Union Joint Secretary

Institutions in Tamil Nadu have been able to complete all projects funded under the first phase of the Union Education Ministry’s Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Union Education Ministry Joint Secretary Armstrong Pame said here on Saturday.
After attending the 101st College Day celebrations of Loyola College, Mr. Pame said that Tamil Nadu has completed all the projects under RUSA-I, but a few projects under RUSA-II are still ongoing. “We are in contact with State officials who have informed us that they are quickly implementing the projects,” Mr. Pame said.
Earlier in the day, he visited Anna University and examined the projects carried out within the scope of RUSA in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. “I was quite impressed to see some of the engines and others [equipment] Installations costing over one crore have been carried out. Students make full use of the facilities. We only want them to speed up the process. [pending] “We are working to ensure that students receive maximum benefit,” he said.
During the University Day celebrations, Mr. Pame shared with the students his experience during his tenure here where he mobilized people’s help for the construction of a road (People’s Road) connecting various interior parts of his native Manipur. He called on students to channel their anger and frustration and join the fight to help improve the living conditions of people around them.
Loyola College Principal A. Louis Arockiaraj, Vice Principal M. Gautaman and Deputy Principal L. Joseph Arockiasamy spoke. A total of 173 successful students from various departments were awarded.
