Brodie Kostecki took the Supercars championship lead with victory in Melbourne, while Broc Feeney was one of three drivers forced to retire in a first corner crash.
Brodie Kostecki claimed the Larry Perkins Trophy and Supercars title after a morning of carnage left Broc Feeney the victim of a huge pile-up at the first corner.

Kostecki took his third win from four races at Albert Park this weekend on Sunday; The Dick Johnson Racing star passed pole position holder Will Brown to take the lead on the penultimate lap.
Thomas Randle overtook Jack Le Brocq for third but the story was the mess that group left behind at the first corner of the race.

After Ryan Wood and Kai Allen made contact off the grid, Kai Allen was tagged by Macauley Jones before the first corner.
Jones drove into the right rear of Feeney, who lost his wheel and began tilting on the track.
Feeney was then tackled by Cooper Murray and tackled by Zach Bates as the 24-year-old attempted to escape on the grass.
Behind them the experienced David Reynolds was spun by Rylan Gray and both races were ruined.
Championship challenger Matt Payne also passed Randle for third on the next lap, before his right-front tire blew a few corners later and was quickly wrecked, leaving the Grove Racing driver in 20th place.

Cameron’s day was also ruined when he was pinned in the pit lane by Chaz Mostert, adding to a horror weekend that saw him slide out of contention in each of the first three races.
But for Kostecki this weekend was a dream despite the illness that caused the 2023 champion to vomit on his helmet during Thursday’s flying lap.
His best move of the weekend was arguably his last; He faked passing Brown at Turn 11 on the penultimate lap, forcing the Triple Eight Race Engineering star to lock up.
Kostecki then reacted quickly, moving to the inside and taking the lead, thus making it three wins to win the SuperSeries event and finish the weekend in second place.
