Oscar Piastri out of home grand prix after crash in warm-up
Oscar Piastri withdrew from the Australian Grand Prix after spinning during warm-up just half an hour before the race at Albert Park.
The accident was a disaster for Piastri, who was expected to start the race in fifth.

Piastri was hoping to forget last year’s title loss and start fresh in 2026.
Vision showed Piastri losing the car during acceleration in turns four and five, piling the left side of the McLaren car against the outside wall and debris scattered across the track.
Piastri escaped unhurt, but a medical car was sent.
“We didn’t see anything in the data. That’s [Piastri] He didn’t say anything on the radio. We will perform an autopsy after the race,” said McLaren CEO Zak Brown.
“I’m sure he’ll be upset about it for a while, but these race car drivers know how to recover quickly. Not the way he wanted to start, but he’ll be back.”
