Two killed in horror four-vehicle smash | UK | News

Two people have died in a horrific crash involving four vehicles on the A370 in Bristol. The collision occurred on the Long Ashton bypass between the roundabout junction with Colliters Way, the A4174 South Bristol Link Road on the Bristol border and the B3130 turn-off for Nailsea at Bourton, Flax.

The road, which was closed for approximately 17 hours after emergency services arrived at the scene at around 19.45, was reopened on Sunday afternoon. Families of the deceased have been informed and support is being provided by expert teams. There were no serious injuries in the other two vehicles.

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or the moments preceding it to contact them using reference number 5226064142.

Police said: “An investigation has been launched following a fatal collision near Bristol last evening (Saturday 7 March). “We were called to a two vehicle collision on the A370 at Yanley, near Long Ashton, at around 7.45pm.

“Despite the intervention of emergency teams who arrived at the scene, unfortunately the drivers of both vehicles lost their lives. Both families have been informed, and our thoughts are with them during this process.”
