The rail operator stated that no ScotRail services will operate to or from Glasgow Central High Level on Tuesday, while services operating via Glasgow Central Low Level will continue but will not stop at the low-level station. Passengers are advised to check their journeys in advance and travel via Argyle Street or Anderston Station, as many routes in western Scotland are suspended or operating with modifications due to the fire.
ScotRail continues to provide updates to customers via the ScotRail website, app and social media platforms, including details of affected routes and guidance on requesting refunds for unused tickets. Station staff are available across the network to assist wherever possible.
ScotRail will issue further service updates as additional information becomes available as emergency services and Network Rail continue to assess the damage caused by the major fire.

ScotRail chief operating officer David Ross said: “Glasgow Central will remain closed on Tuesday while the impact of the fire at the building next to the station is assessed and we expect disruption to continue for a number of days.
“We would like to thank our colleagues in the fire and emergency services who worked incredibly hard to tackle the fire and prevent it from spreading to the station itself. “We know this closure will cause significant disruption for our customers and we are very sorry for the impact this will have on their journeys.
“Our teams are working hard to keep people moving where possible and we encourage customers to check their journeys using the ScotRail app or website before they travel.”
Scottish Fire and Rescue confirmed crews were still working to cool hot spots in the building’s stonework, in collaboration with structural engineers who were assessing the stability of the remaining structure.
As of 3.30pm on Monday, March 9, eight devices, including three high-access vehicles, were still at the scene.
A fire brigade spokesman said: “We cannot speculate on the cause of the fire at this time. A multi-agency investigation will be carried out in line with fire investigation protocols, but this may be precluded due to the significant damage sustained,” adding that “Glasgow Central Station remains closed due to the proximity of the incident to rail infrastructure and the presence of significant debris.”
