Melbourne Demons star returns to Darwin to deal with relationship split
Dynamic forward Kysaiah Pickett returned to Darwin this week to deal with the split in relations and missed several training sessions ahead of the first-round clash in Melbourne.
The club confirmed Pickett departed for the Top End with the Demons’ approval on Tuesday and is expected to return on Thursday.

Melbourne will face St Kilda at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.
Devils great Garry Lyon reported Pickett’s absence on SEN on Wednesday morning.

Lyon said Pickett, 24, had been training on his own to make up for the sessions he missed after his partner moved to Darwin.
Pickett and his partner Ardu Cubillo have a daughter, Belleny, born in April 2024.
Age reported this Pickett signed seven-year contract extension in June This will take it through the end of 2034 at a cost of $12 million.
New Melbourne coach Steven King was due to address the media at Casey Fields ahead of the Demons’ training on Wednesday morning.
