Harvey Weinstein moans Gwyneth Paltrow made ‘a big deal over nothing’ after he asked her for massage

Harvey Weinstein is still furious after Gwyneth Paltrow came forward with allegations that led to her downfall and a cultural reckoning.

The actress, now 53, claimed she was just 22 when Weinstein asked her for a massage following a meeting at the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel. She rejected his advances and told her boyfriend, Brad Pitt, who later confronted Weinstein on the red carpet.

It’s been nearly a decade since the scandal first emerged, but Paltrow’s actions continue to haunt the disgraced filmmaker from behind bars.

Weinstein said in an interview from Rikers Island: Hollywood Reporter HE Paltrow’s allegations against him were particularly hurtful because Paltrow was a “good friend” of his who “owed her career to him.”

Paltrow won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1999 after starring in Weinstein’s Shakespeare In Love.

‘I don’t know what drove him to do this,’ he said. ‘Making such a big deal out of nothing. I walked out of a nice meeting with him and said, “How about a massage?”

‘And he said: ‘No, I don’t think so.’ I got the message. I never touched him. he told Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt came up to me and said, “Don’t do anything like that with my daughter.” “Don’t worry, Brad. I got it,” I said. But then Gwyneth goes on Howard Stern and makes a big deal about the whole thing.

‘He knows it’s nothing. But this person, who is my friend and who owes his career to me, stabs me in the back. He wanted to be part of the crowd. That’s why I won’t forgive him.’

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Pitt and Paltrow for further comment.

Paltrow recalled how she confronted the producer in 2018 when her boyfriend Pitt said Weinstein had sexually harassed her.

The actress said that at the couple’s opening night of Hamlet on Broadway in 1995, Pitt saw Weinstein and took action.

Paltrow told broadcaster Howard Stern that Pitt threw Weinstein against the wall and said: ‘If you ever bother him again, I’ll kill you.’

She also stated that Pitt was ‘the best person’ to do this for her when she didn’t have fame or power.

“But this person who is my friend and owes his career to me is stabbing me in the back,” Weinstein complained to Paltrow.

Paltrow was one of the first stars to go on record with The New York Times, with a story about Weinstein that sparked the #MeToo movement.

She recalled how Weinstein asked them to go to his bedroom for a massage after a business meeting on the Beverly Hills Peninsula when he was starting his career.

She rejected his advances and walked away devastated, thinking: ‘I thought you were my Uncle Harvey.’

Weinstein went back to the actress and told her not to tell anyone again about what happened between them.

At the time, Paltrow was preparing to star alongside Toni Collette and Ewan McGregor in Miramax’s new adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma.

“He yelled at me for a long time,” Paltrow said.

‘It was brutal.’

A few years later, he became a superstar and won an Oscar, but he didn’t have the strength to share his story.

“I was expected to keep this secret,” said Paltrow, who described Weinstein as “alternately generous, supportive and defensive, punitive and overbearing.”

But he decided not to remain silent anymore.

“We’re at a time when women need to send a clear message that this is over,” Paltrow said.

‘This way of treating women ends now.’

Weinstein, once one of Hollywood’s heavyweights, became a symbol of sexual abuse after allegations against him emerged in the press in 2017.

In total, nearly 60 women made heartbreaking allegations against Weinstein.

Weinstein lives with a number of health problems, including cancer, diabetes, spinal cord stenosis and a possible immune system problem.

He had previously broken his silence in prison to make further denials, admitting to Paltrow that he was just ‘passing’.

Weinstein was a co-founder of film and television production companies Miramax and The Weinstein Company, and was once one of the most powerful people in Hollywood, producing such films as Pulp Fiction and The Crying Game.

He has long maintained that any sexual activity is consensual.
