Schools ordered to pause NAPLAN as online testing platform fails nationwide

NAPLAN testing for more than 1.3 million students across the country has been paused due to technological issues with online assessment.
Students reportedly had difficulty connecting to the online platform when they logged in to complete the first assessment on Wednesday morning.
The Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) said schools were “advised to pause testing”.
“We are aware of a common issue affecting students logging into the online platform to complete NAPLAN assessments,” ACARA said.
Australian students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 take an annual assessment of basic literacy and numeracy skills.
These tests are carried out in 94,000 schools across the country, including public, private and independent schools.
More to come.
