Parliament Budget Session March 11 LIVE: Lok Sabha to continue discussion of removal of Speaker Om Birla

TThe heated debate on the decision to impeach Speaker Om Birla is scheduled to continue in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Many Opposition leaders who spoke during the debate on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, complained about the vacant position of Deputy Speaker of Parliament, microphones being turned off, Opposition members not being allowed to speak, and mass suspensions among the major issues.

The Lok Sabha is also scheduled to take up the Supplementary Demands for Second Batch Grants 2025-2026 for debate and vote today.
Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha will continue its deliberations on the work of the Ministry of Rural Development. Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav yesterday responded to the controversy regarding his Ministry’s work.

The Lok Sabha witnessed a heated debate on the validity of the member of the presiding panel appointed by the Speaker and presiding over the debate on the decision to impeach the Speaker. Several Opposition members, including AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Congress’s KCVengopal and Gaurav Gogoi, Saugata Ray and Trinamool Congress’s Mahua Moitra, questioned this. However, the chairman decided that the Speaker’s seat was not yet vacant and that it was valid for the session to be chaired by a person from the panel. Opposition in Rajya Sabha yesterday tried to raise the issue of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Rajya Sabha but it was rejected; Chairman CP Radhakrishnan stated that during the discussion on electoral reforms in the last session, all members were allowed to speak on the issue.
