AI Summit Protest: T-Shirt designer gets interim protection from arrest

New Delhi: The Patiala Palace Court on Wednesday granted interim protection from arrest to a T-shirt designer in connection with the AI ​​Summit protest case that took place on February 20 and was allegedly organized by workers of the Indian Youth Congress at the Bharat Mandapam.

Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Amit Bansal granted protection to Umesh Chandra Padala, who allegedly designed the t-shirts worn by the protesters.


The court directed Padala to cooperate with the investigation conducted by the Delhi Police.

The court also directed the Delhi police to give 7 days’ notice to Umesh Chandra Padala, a resident of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, in case of his arrest.


Padala was attributed the role of designing the T-shirts allegedly used in the protest and was said to have assisted the alleged main conspirators in planning the demonstration.

This case relates to a protest held at the AI ​​Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam on February 20.

Delhi Police arrested Udai Bhanu Chib, President of Indian Youth Congress and 13 others in this case. The anticipatory bail pleas of Manish Sharma and Rajeev Kumar are awaiting hearing in the Patiala Assembly Court tomorrow. This case is being handed over to the Crime Branch of Delhi police.
