There were shootings at two synagogues in Toronto over the weekend. A few days earlier, on the Jewish holiday of Purim, another synagogue was hit by nearly twenty gunshots.
Although the three attacks did not cause any injuries, many in the Jewish community are demanding that Prime Minister Mark Carney take concrete action, not the comforting words that come after such anti-Semitic incidents.

Carney later said he didn’t hear the scammer use the term “genocide.”
“The Prime Minister rewarded Hamas’ brutality when he recognized the state of Palestine, and he did so on the eve of Rosh Hashanah,” Baber said.
In his announcement the day before the Jewish holiday, Carney claimed that “recognizing the State of Palestine, led by the Palestinian Authority, empowers those who seek peaceful coexistence and the end of Hamas” and that it “in no way legitimizes terrorism and is not a reward for it.” He also claimed that the recognition “in no way compromises Canada’s steadfast support for the State of Israel, its people and its security.”

Watchdog organization StopAntisemitism told Fox News Digital: “Every day we see painful reminders that antisemitism remains a real and dangerous threat. Acts of violence aimed at intimidating or silencing our community will not succeed. Loud and proud Jews will not allow hatred or fear to deter our Jewish way of life or our presence in the world. Not in Canada, not in the United States, not in Europe, and certainly not in Israel.”
