Inter-State Robbers Arrested In Hindupur

Hindupur rural police in Sri Sathya Sai district arrested two members of an Uttar Pradesh-based gang and recovered gold jewelery from them on Wednesday.
Hindupur DSP KV Mahesh said the arrests were made in connection with a robbery that took place in Venkatadri Layout in Hindupur Mandate in July last year.
Police teams were searching for the accused and later found that a gang from Uttar Pradesh was involved in the incident. Following the clues, the police arrested Pathan Haider Ali and Imran Ali Khan.
Police seized around 5 tonnes of gold ornaments from the accused. The individuals who were referred to the courthouse were arrested and sent to prison.
Sri Sathya Sai SP Sathish Kumar appreciated the police personnel for solving the case and announced awards to the team for their prompt and efficient work.
Man sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in Vizianagaram POCSO case; The victim was given a reward of ₹ 5 lakh
A special Pocso court in Vizianagaram sentenced a 24-year-old man to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for sexually abusing a minor girl. The court also fined the victim ₹ 6,000 and ordered compensation of ₹ 5 lakh.
Special judge K. Nagamani gave the verdict in a case registered at Nellimarla police station in May 2025.
According to the police, the accused Pand Narayana of Kondavelagada village of Nellimarla mandal befriended a 16-year-old girl from his village on Instagram and allegedly lured her on the pretext of love before sexually abusing her. The abuse came to light when the girl became pregnant and her parents discovered the incident.
Police said Narayana initially promised to marry the girl but later postponed the marriage. On May 15, 2025, the girl underwent an abortion and subsequently the case was registered based on the statement of Nellimarla SI B. Ganesh at the hospital.
The investigation was led by DSP M. Srinivasa Rao, who arrested the accused and filed a chargesheet.
District SP AR Damodar said police and judiciary provided speedy justice. Prosecutor S. Ramamurthy Naidu argued the case and led to conviction. SP also appreciated the efforts of CI G. Ramakrishna, SI B. Ganesh, HC CH. Ramakrishna and the presiding judge, police officer A. Murali.
