Financier’s Harassment Drive Woman to End Life in Tandur
Hyderabad: A woman committed suicide at her residence at Sirigiripet in Tandur in erstwhile Ranga Reddy district as she was subjected to harassment from a village financier demanding she repay the loan amount of Rs.1 lakh.
Police Laxmi took Rs.1 lakh as loan from financier Hanumanthu Reddy. However, he could not repay this amount because he suffered losses due to the unproductive crop. Hanumanthu then started pressuring him demanding repayment of the amount.
Even though Laxmi insisted him to give her some time to repay the amount, Hanumanthu did not give up and abused her with dirty language in front of the villagers. Upset by this situation, Laxmi took a serious step by consuming pesticide.
Police registered a case and handed over Laxmi’s body to her family members after autopsy at the government hospital in Tandur.
