Crashed helicopter found in regional NSW more than a day after it left Gold Coast

A crashed helicopter has been found in dense bushland in regional NSW, a day after it took off from the Gold Coast.
The helicopter left the Gold Coast for Mudgee at around 9am on Friday, but a report was made to police at around 8pm after the helicopter failed to arrive.
Police investigations suggest the vehicle may have been seen flying over the Cataract National Park at Boorook, approximately 55 kilometers north-east of Tenterfield, at around 5.30pm on Friday.
Helicopter search efforts were canceled on Friday evening due to poor visibility and weather conditions.
The wreckage was found around 2pm on Saturday in dense bush north of Drake.
It is unknown how many people were on the helicopter at the time.
The Australian Safety Bureau will investigate the cause of the crash.
Police will return to the scene on Sunday to investigate further.
