Ahead of its rally in Punjab’s Moga on Saturday, March 14, 2026, Union Home Minister Amit Shah harshly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of drowning the State in corruption, drugs and crime.
He said Punjab wanted ‘badlav’ (change).

“Everyone in Punjab wants change. Because the sacred land of Punjab, known for its soldiers, farmers and hardworking people, has been drowned in corruption, drugs and crime by the ‘Aap-da’ government,” Mr. Shah said in a post on he said.
Taking on the Bhagwant Mann government on the law and order situation, Mr. Shah said that under this “remote-controlled” AAP administration, law, order and development are “lacking” in Punjab.
“Today, we are very keen to engage in dialogue with Punjabi sisters and brothers at the BJP’s ‘Badlav’ rally in Moga,” Mr. Shah said.
Mr. Shah will address the ‘Badlav’ rally in Moga on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
The rally is seen as the start of the BJP’s poll campaign in Punjab, where assembly elections are due in early 2027.
Elaborate arrangements have been made for the rally in Moga’s Killi Chahlan village.
Moga falls in the politically important Malwa belt of Punjab, which accounts for 69 of the 117 Assembly seats in the state that will go to polls early next year.
In February, AAP addressed a rally led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP national organizer Arvind Kejriwal at the same venue.
Earlier, Punjab BJP working president Ashwani Sharma had claimed that everyone in Punjab sees the BJP as a reliable and credible alternative for a change in the state. He said people have decided to remove AAP from power in 2027.
