Give BJP a chance to make Punjab drug-free: Amit Shah

Shah said today Punjab is being destroyed due to debt, drugs, conversion, corruption and gangster terrorism.
Addressing the ‘Badlav’ rally held at Killi Chahlan village here, Shah said Punjab had given many chances to Congress, Akalis and AAP and now it should give a chance to BJP.
“We will bring change to Punjab,” he said.
Shah said the Bhagwant Mann government was mired in corruption and had become an “ATM” for party chief Arvind Kejriwal.
Stating that the polls will be held in 2027, Shah said that in a way, the BJP has started the poll campaign from Moga.
Seeking support for his party, the Union minister said, “I have come to appeal to the people of Punjab.” With the BJP having previously been part of the government in Punjab as the junior partner of the Akalis, Shah told the gathering: “When we came before you, we came into the role of a younger brother”.
He said that the BJP will now fight to form its government.
“I have come to seek blessings from the people of Punjab, including mothers, sisters and elders. Give us your prayers. If there is anyone who can save the state from the drug menace, it is only Narendra Modi and the BJP,” he said.
“We have scrapped Article 370 in J&K. Today, Naxalism is about to end. If Punjab has to get rid of the drug menace, it needs the twin-engine government of the BJP,” he said.
“Today, Punjab is ravaged by debts, drugs, conversions, corruption and gangster terrorism.” he said, adding that the industry had left the state.
Congress, Akali Dal and AAP were given many chances to help Punjab get rid of unemployment. Now give the BJP a chance to bring change, Shah said.
Extensive security measures were taken for the Shah’s rally.
Moga falls in the politically important Malwa belt of Punjab, accounting for 69 of the 117 assembly seats in the state.
