KSRTC to operate 2,000 additional buses to handle Ugadi and Id rush

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced that 2,000 additional buses will be put into operation to meet the increased passenger demand during the upcoming Ugadi and Id festivals.
According to the company, special services will be activated on March 18, 19 and 20, in addition to the existing programs, to facilitate the hassle-free travel of festival passengers. Special return services will also be operated to Bengaluru from various intra-State and inter-state destinations on March 22 to accommodate passengers returning after holidays.
Buses will ply from Kempe Gowda Bus Terminal to many important destinations such as Dharmasthala, Kukke Subrahmanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapur, Sringeri, Horanadu, Hubballi, Belagavi, Gokarna, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari and Bidar. In the statement, it was stated that the services will also be provided to interstate destinations such as Tirupati, Vijayawada and Hyderabad.
Additionally, special buses will operate from Mysuru Road Bus Terminal towards Mysuru, Hunsur, Periyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalnagar and Madikeri to serve passengers traveling to Kodagu and surrounding areas.
Passengers can book advance tickets through KSRTC’s computerized reservation system, booking counters in Karnataka and neighboring states or online through the company’s website, the statement added. KSRTC has also announced a 5% discount on fares for groups of four or more passengers booked together and a 10% discount on return tickets when outward and return journeys are booked simultaneously.
The corporation said additional buses will also be deployed from taluk and district bus stands depending on passenger demand.
