Woman arrested on suspicion of murder after newborn baby dies in London building fall

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of an 18-day-old baby in central London.
The Metropolitan Police said the little girl died after falling from a residence.
Officers were called to Horseferry Road in Westminster following the incident on Saturday morning.
It was determined that the girl, who was taken to the hospital, died.
Police said a 43-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and detained on suspicion of murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell said: “Our thoughts are with the baby’s family today.”
“The death of a baby is always an extremely tragic event and officers are conducting an urgent investigation into this situation.
“At this stage we believe the incident occurred in a local context but we would urge anyone with information to come forward.”
