Body of man is found inside wheelie bin in park: Police fear victim was hit by a car and then moved

A man’s body was found inside a wheelie bin in a park in Coventry.

The unidentified man, believed to be aged between 40 and 50, was found by a member of the public in Cash’s Park off Daimler Road at around 5pm on Friday.

West Midlands Police said the man may have been hit by a vehicle before being taken to the park.

His body was found in Coventry City Council’s green-lidded wheelie bin.

Authorities do not yet know where the garbage bin was moved from.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole said police were keeping an “open mind” but believed the man may have been hit by a vehicle and carried into the park.

A blue tent and police tape were placed around the area where the man’s body was found

‘I would like to hear urgently from anyone who believes they may have hit someone in their car yesterday, or who noticed a change in behavior of someone they know who was driving, or who noticed damage to a vehicle,’ he said.

‘It is vital that we track down that person as quickly as possible so we can tell what happened.

‘If anyone in the area has noticed their green lidded wheelie bin being stolen, I’d like to hear from them too.’
